What subjects are taught and in which classes?
The subjects studied are Bulgarian language, literature, history and geography of Bulgaria. The classes offered by the school range from kindergarten (3-4 yo) to high school grades (15+). More information about the school's programs can be found here:
What diplomas are issued to students?
The certificates issued by the school are certified by the Ambassador of Bulgaria to the USA and are recognized in Bulgaria. Children who graduate from our school can continue their education in Bulgaria. More information about the school licensing can be found here.
Where and when are the classes held?
School classes are held online and in-person on Saturdays in two shifts, morning and afternoon. Detailed information about the class schedule can be found here.

At what age can I enroll my child?
The youngest group is kindergarten first group (3-4 yo). Information about all classes can be found here.
How is it determined in which class is the child enrolled?
The determination of the class in which children are enrolled is made on the basis of age (according to the table in the Programs section) and the level of proficiency in Bulgarian. The age of the children is determined on the basis of the completed years of the child in the calendar year in which the respective school year begins. For example, children born in calendar year 2013 will be 7 years of age in 2020 and will accordingly be enrolled in first grade in the 2020/2021 school year.
In cases where the child has reached the required age for a class, but the level of command of the Bulgarian language is insufficient for that class, it will be recommended that the child enroll in a lower class. The level of proficiency in Bulgarian is determined by the teachers.

What kind of celebrations are organized?
There are several celebrations throughout the year: Christmas, March 3rd and the celebration of Bulgarian and Slavonic writing on May 24th. For more information and exact dates, please check the school calendar.
