Седмица на българската писменост / Week of Bulgarian literacy

Bulgarian Literacy Week: This week we will hold two additional virtual meetings dedicated to the Bulgarian alphabet and literacy. Don't miss them if you have the opportunity to get involved.

Valentina Petrova, curator of the children's department at the National History Museum in Sofia (NHM) will be a guest. On Tuesday we will talk about the long path of writing. Who were the first artists-writers? We will look at rock paintings of caves in Argentina and Europe, including the Magura cave in Bulgaria. We will talk about the funny story of R. Kipling about the first letter. There will be tasks for the children.

It is recommended to get acquainted with the story before the meeting: https://chitanka.info/text/24853-kak-beshe-napisano-pyrvoto-pismo

On Friday, the topic will be 'History of the book, from the clay tablet to the present day'. What is a living book, what is a temple book, what is a gold book, what is a wax book? What was the decoration of the old Bulgarian book? We will answer these and other questions, we will share photos.
